Disruptive fires in Northern California have led to Napa College opening its gymnasium for the community to use as a shelter. Coaches from the college have been working around the clock assisting community members who have been effected by the what is now being called the state?s deadliest wildfire on record. The current death roll stands at 29, but hundreds have been reported missing.

Reports had as many 680 individuals staying in the college gymnasium. Steve Ball, head coach of Napa College and president of the coaches? association, said coaches from all of the sport programs at the college have been pitching in. When reached by text, he simply said, ?it is bad.?

The men?s basketball team is scheduled to open the season on November 3 vs. San Francisco in the Ram Invitational at 6 pm.
